THE OBJECTIVE

You may choose to make a mockup of any hand-held tool. Your model should consist of two parts: core and skin. The core is made of polyurethane expanding foam and the skin is made up with modeling clay.

THE JOURNEY

 

Create and select design ideas --> Sketch out the shape of the foam core --> Model a simplified mockup of the design using CAD --> Create a paper shell of the model ussing Pepakura --> Laser cut the pattern on paper --> Assemble the paper pattern and make a shell --> Fill the shell with the expanding Polyurethane foam --> Heat modeling clay --> Apply modeling clay on the core --> Scrape clay surface and add details
